Outward Bound is the leading provider of experiential and outdoor education programs for youth and adults. Founded in Maine in 1964, Hurricane Island Outward Bound celebrated their 50th anniversary with a coffee table book documenting the teachers, students and expeditions over the years. The book uses historical documentation interspersed with photos and quotes from founders and philosophers. We were asked to help design and write the book. Here is the first chapter and a couple layouts we came up with.
